So, I tested with 3 cables: MiniDP -> Full DP: Same issue USB-C -> DP: Same issue USB-C -> HDMI: Seems to solve the issue
Config now reports with all cables only 120Hz max, all cables are rated (according to the amazon listing) as 4K 240Hz compatible. I now switched to the USB-C cable, but am limited for some reason to 120Hz. Something I can definitely live with, but I do find the behaviour very strange. I don't know if this would warrant any further testing, but am willing to do so if you want to delve into this deeper. FWIW, the USB-C to DB cable does give another strange effect: after locking (without touching mouse/keyboard) the monitor turns off, then it keeps turning on, then telling me there is no signal, turns off and a few seconds later repeats these steps. Seems to go on in an endless loop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2125825 Title: External display does not wake after laptop lock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2125825/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
