update my problems: its ubuntu 32 bit, karmic koala fresh install. updates where ok, but with new updates change of behaviour: no occurrence of turn-on of screensaver while surfing anymore. problem that it doesnt turn on seems to be correlating with certain programms, maybe also when a programm window is open and active. eg deluge. when starting the screensaver per command "gnome-screensaver-command -a" it turns on with reduced graphical abilities. after a minute electric sheep works like hoped. next turn on of screensaver works automatically after the time period i adjusted.
