I second that last comment: not being able to configure an automatic screen lock after a given time of inactivity is obviously a security issue at least in certain environments. Personally I am getting this bug in Xubuntu 9.10, upgraded from 9.04. The screen saver can be started manually (either by command line or by the lock screen button/shutdown menu) but does not start automatically. On this particular computer, I originally installed 6.06 and upgraded to every new release; this is the first time I see this bug happening.
