After I got the charge down to fifty percent, the situation remained the same. The bug would resurface once out of every five times or so when restarting gdm, but not from boot. When the bug Did resurface, Nautilus did load successfully. When I initially reported the bug, I was incapable of getting gdm to boot properly at all in the same situation; so the gnome updates that have been distributed over the last couple of weeks may have resolved part of the issue.
