If it is possible what Mark Shuttleworth says, that would for now be the best solution. Make suitable 8x8 or 12x12 variants of the close icon. Although I am not sure these will be used automatically on the tabs. I agree with Jeff Waugh that effort has to be made to get this tab close button issue fixed and standardized. Now is not the best time to discuss wether to use close buttons per tab or just a single one. We should be focusing on how to fix this issue before the upcoming release this Thursday. Discussions about what would be the best for usable need to bee posponed untill after the release of Dapper. I think.
