Hi,

If you open any .texi file in gedit (2.22.3) and insert

@ignore 
whatever text you wish to include, or none. 
@end ignore 

anywhere in the middle of source text, the balance of text after the @end 
ignore 
remains colored as though a comment. If you enter any character to the left of 
@ignore, the text for the remainder of the document is highlighted properly 
(e.g., tab, space, 'x'). 

The attachment is a copy of the beginning of the file info.texi with my 
modification at lines 29 and 30.
