I don't mean to cross you and it is a question out of it's time seeing as
you haven't made any decisions yet but what about functionality and
extensibility of your "proprietary" platform? Are we in for another IWEBMSG
and are you going to hire a whole new team to support coding
features/upgrades for this? I see this as being your expense where you would
have almost none using existing "free" technologies such as IIS.
It is a catch-22.

Using a proprietary platform does have its drawbacks. However, so do the free technologies. That is one of the reasons this would be an addon and not included with Declude JunkMail, so that new features to it would be more easily justified. We do already have a lot of the pieces here that would be necessary for getting the job done, it's more a matter of what people would want/expect in the future. And we have some level of control over that.

I'm guessing that most features/upgrades that people would be looking for are ones that we would need to handle, regardless of whether we use our own webserver or IIS/Apache. However, I'm guessing that only time will tell whether people are going to want a lot of flexibility with this (remember, people who really want a lot of flexibility still have the option of creating their own with the tools they prefer).
