Sorry to keep following up to myself, but I noticed that my attempts to use OpenGL with the experimental -video-intel resulted in a few thousand kernel messages reading [drm:i915_gem_execbuffer] *ERROR* Object ffff880033576240 appears more than once in object list (always with that specific object ID [address?]) in addition to display corruption. -- Aaron M.
