Why do you report this bug against xserver-xorg-video-intel if the bug
only comes when upgrading xserver-xorg-core 1.6.1.901-3 ?

There's a DRI2 ABI break in xserver-xorg-core -3, but your symptoms seem
different from other people crashes. Can you upgrading xserver-xorg-core
again and installing the intel driver package from
http://people.debian.org/~bgoglin/rebuilds/Xserver1.6-ABIbreak/intel/ ?
It's just a rebuild of the intel driver against latest xserver-xorg-dev
and dri2 proto. It fixes other people ABI problems.
