Package: xorg Version: 1:7.3+8 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system
The system hangs when trying to start X. It even stops responding to 'ping' or alt-ctrl-f1,f2... The screen is blank. Nothing works but reset. This is a fresh installation of debian 40r0 via netinst CD, then imediately switched/upgraded to sid. The X system worked on original 40r0 debian and it stoped working during upgrade to sid (even during instalation process itself when it comes to gdm restart). To finish the upgrade process, I've uninstalled gdm and finished aptitude full-upgrade in console mode, and reinstalled gdm (which didn't fix the problem). Even uninstall/reinstall X system didn't fix the problem. Anyway, the problem is still present. Please let me know what other info I should send about this problem. regards, Zoran Bosnjak -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages xorg depends on: ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libg 7.0.2-3 A free implementation of the OpenG ii libglu1-mesa 7.0.2-3 The OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii x11-apps 7.3+1 X applications ii x11-session-utils 7.3+1 X session utilities ii x11-utils 7.3+1 X11 utilities ii x11-xfs-utils 7.3+1 X font server utilities ii x11-xkb-utils 7.3+1 X11 XKB utilities ii x11-xserver-utils 7.3+2 X server utilities ii xauth 1:1.0.2-2 X authentication utility ii xfonts-100dpi 1:1.0.0-4 100 dpi fonts for X ii xfonts-75dpi 1:1.0.0-4 75 dpi fonts for X ii xfonts-base 1:1.0.0-5 standard fonts for X ii xfonts-scalable 1:1.0.0-6 scalable fonts for X ii xfonts-utils 1:1.0.1-2 X Window System font utility progr ii xinit 1.0.7-1 X server initialisation tool ii xkb-data 1.0~cvs.20070916-1 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii xserver-xorg 1:7.3+8 the X.Org X server ii xterm [x-terminal-emu 229-1 X terminal emulator Versions of packages xorg recommends: ii xorg-docs 1:1.4-2 Miscellaneous documentation for th -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
