For one of my packages, I experimented switching from quilt to feature
branches as described by Manoj in
  http://arch.debian.org/arch/private/srivasta/
first with tla, then baz and git.  I am still not convinced that
merging with new upstream versions is easier than with quilt.
OTOH I use git only to track my Debian packages locally and it is
obvious from Daniel's post (thanks Daniel for your explanations!) in
another subthread that my knowledge of git can be improved a lot.
Glad that we will switch to git, this is a fantastic opportunity to
learn new cool stuff :)
