Define 'cannot use'. I haven't had any such problems on a similar if not
the same machine (TiBook IV), although I prefer 1152x768 for the aspect
ratio.

Note that it's usually a bad idea to use anything but the panel's native
resolution for video playback because the video overlay's scaling
filters are optimized for video and provide better video scaling quality
than the normal RMX scaling filters.

This doesn't require running the internal LCD at the same resolution
either.


If this doesn't help, please provide full(!) config and log files.
