Again, Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS,TMDS" is not really supported yet. The driver will source both heads from the same CRTC in this case, which can only work if both heads use the exact same timings. Apparently, it happens to choose the timings which work for the external display in your case. I just verified that the exact same 1024x768 mode works fine here on the internal panel of pretty much the same machine. Now, what do we do with this report?
