First of all, my machine: - IBM ThinkPad T42p - PCI:*(1:0:0) ATI Technologies Inc M10 NT [FireGL Mobility T2] rev 128, Mem @ 0xe0000000/27, 0xc0100000/16, I/O @ 0x3000/8 - 2.6.15-rc7 manually compiled with make-kpkg (but the same results with a Debian official 2.6.14-2-686) - unstable daily upgraded - Eclipse [1] as Windows Mangaer

Sure, at least to have a working X11 in the while :-) BTW, I should say that the same happens if I try 2.6.14-2-686 o 2.6.15-rc7 with the radeon DRM module compiled in: the screen goes black when xdm starts and the system is completely freezed.
