I agree completely; and in fact, I'm a bit annoyed with myself that I didn't find that when I went bug searching prior to filing this one. Thanks. I'm not attached to any particular set of cursors; I'd be happy to revert to what was in use before. However, I'm not sure to what /etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme should otherwise be linked. A quick google only turned up references to linking it to add-on cursor themes; looking through packages for the file that seems to be the one actually loaded by X (/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons/default/index.theme) didn't turn up anything. So I'm not sure what to do to revert it. If you have any guidance, I'd appreciate it. > if anything, it's a bug in > the X 2D drivers that they don't force hardware cursors on > direct-rendered windows. To the extent that I understand this at all, that seems sensible. -c -- Chris Metzler [EMAIL PROTECTED] (remove "snip-me." to email) "As a child I understood how to give; I have forgotten this grace since I have become civilized." - Chief Luther Standing Bear
