I've been plagued with the BadLength error for sometimes now, and sure enough I have a P2110. My machine has been quite stable for few years before this BadLenght things, and I used to use the retinalburn DRI+Xv patch to watch DVDs (sometimes without the DRI part), and I've never had problems with it.
So far I try different X configuration (4.2, 4.3 with various XF86Config-4) to not avail.
