I'm having trouble figuring out what's going on here.
Please mail me the output of the command after doing this:
export DEBUG_XFREE86_PACKAGE=YES
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-common
I am also unable to reproduce this problem. Changing the nice value
with debconf works fine for me.
If I do not hear back from you, I will have to close this report.
