What would help a lot more would be reverting your changes and adding "set -x" to the xfonts-scalable postinst and postrm scripts, reproduce the problem, and then send the output to this bug report so you can show me exactly where xftcache is being run on the Speedo directory. That way maybe I can determine why the logic I wrote specifically to prevent this did not work for you. -- G.
