I think your diff was backwards. Could you please update debian/control to reflect the Build-Depends on dbs, and then use diff -urN on revision 238 of the 4.3.0-sid branch (available at http://necrotic.deadbeast.net/xfree86/branches-4.3.0-sid-debian-2003.06.24.tar.gz)? Basically, when you untar that you'll have a debian/ directory.
