Package: x-window-system Version: 4.2.1-3 Severity: normal I just upgraded x-window-system and assorted packages. After upgrade, I found that my window manager had been switched from under me to fvwm. I had to rerun update-alternatives manually to install my favourite fvwm95 again.
This is a Bad Thing, IMHO. A package upgrade should not change systemwide defaults. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Kernel Version: Linux meiner 2.4.18 #4 Mon Jun 17 20:14:20 CEST 2002 i686 Pentium II (Klamath) GenuineIntel GNU/Linux Versions of the packages x-window-system depends on: ii lbxproxy 4.2.1-3 Low Bandwidth X (LBX) proxy server ii proxymngr 4.2.1-3 X proxy services manager ii twm 4.2.1-3 Tab window manager ii x-window-syste 4.2.1-3 X Window System core components ii xdm 4.2.1-3 X display manager ii xfs 4.2.1-3 X font server ii xfwp 4.2.1-3 X firewall proxy server ii xnest 4.2.1-3 nested X server ii xprt 4.2.1-3 X print server ii xspecs 4.2.1-3 X protocol, extension, and library technical ii xterm 4.2.1-3 X terminal emulator ii xvfb 4.2.1-3 virtual framebuffer X server
