Just wondering if the latest Xfree86 4.2 from the X taskforce has the patches mentioned in the url.... I guess the kernel thing is a separate issue...probably need to run 2.4.19 kernel-image?
NOTE this is for sony vaio pcg-r505el model apparently it does work but seems excessive... -walter
