It looks like a corrupt debconf database to me, especially if man-db runs into it too. Try taking a copy of everything in /var/cache/debconf (for the purposes of later bug reports :-)), and then running /usr/share/debconf/fix_db.pl. -- Colin Watson [EMAIL PROTECTED]
