I have a few binary applications that exhibit the problem with ISO10646 fonts (fonts appear as little gray boxes). I read the FAQ, but there is no suggested solution or even a hack to fix the problem. The programs are not open source and there are no updated versions. So, how can I get rid of the little gray boxes? Is there any way to find out exactly what fonts the applications are requesting and set up aliases to the ISO8859-1 fonts?
