Indeed the simplest repro is just running the following in a sid armhf schroot running on a amd64 host with binfmt qemu-user-static emulation on: $ Xvfb :42 -noreset -nolisten tcp Downgrading libunwind8:armhf from 1.7.2-1 (sid) to 1.6.2-3.1 (testing) fixes the issue.
