The MR is waiting for someone to pick it up. But no one cares much about
upstream Xorg any more, so nothing has happened.

We start to hit this issue in Kali Linux (based on Debian testing), so
I guess we'll have to carry this patch. I suppose it will have to be
added to the xorg Debian package as well, at some point?
