Yoriyosi, Please do not email Branden directly. Email debian-user if you think the problem is common, or debian-x if you think the problem is unique to the Debian packaging of X. In this case, I believe it is unique to the debian packaging of X, so debian-x would be the correct address to email.
[Branden, is there any chance you could get your email address removed from the package maintainer field? :] With respect to this problem, the changelog specifically states that this tool has been disabled temporarily. This is likely a result of this tool's extreme infancy -- it seems to work less often than fail. Please use dexter(1) or write your own XF86Config(5) file yourself. [Branden, could you make XF86Config-4 a symlink to XF86Config? That way, I can refer to XF86Config-4(5) directly. :] Cheers. :) * Branden Robinson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [001117 22:47]: > Someone please tell him not to mail bugs to me privately, and also that > this bug has already been filed 3 times? > > ----- Forwarded message from Yoriyosi Hattori <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ----- > > From: Yoriyosi Hattori <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: (bug) xserver-xfree86_4.0.1-5 > Date: Sat, 18 Nov 2000 08:30:20 +0900 > Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > X-Mailer: Sylpheed version 0.4.4 (GTK+ 1.2.8; Linux 2.2.17; i586) > Organization: nethome > > (bug) xserver-xfree86_4.0.1-5 > > go:~# xf86cfg > Cannot open Cards database. > > go:~# strace xf86cfg > . > . > . > > open("lib/X11/Cards", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or > directory) > write(2, "Cannot open Cards database.\n", 28Cannot open Cards database. > ) = 28 > _exit(1) = ? > > -- > _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ > > Yoriyosi Hattori > 服部 頼義 > > E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > ICQ: 25929223 > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > Type Bits/KeyID Date User ID > pub 1024/F0A5D019 2000/10/19 Yoriyosi Hattori <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > -----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- > Version: 2.6.3ia > > mQCNAznvBuwAAAEEALybc2Uu5TPMJ4UX6FFQ4JtoHyquuplkXgbBvaTF3K44lZ5g > dJLZkTn/p0WpjCBqEahVr7z4zz3I5qiNU+Evr34wrTbG3tSm6cc9PtWRp1Ox23dO > MtwRakmafLWGkOZWbJQyf2U8t67oUPNcO+O6ZJk+fFWelrJRvkHyZHPwpdAZAAUR > tCNZb3JpeW9zaSBIYXR0b3JpIDx5b3JpX2hAbmlmdHkuY29tPokAlQMFEDnvBuxB > 8mRz8KXQGQEBIIsEAKPczsdaUPfT/9h4ZbkiTh5Wh4eU8xxEhdJKLmWpivfhtOs1 > AJYPaooi1zq8cAjK1FiGcDH9DgjXT9Z70h2/maJOydQMW/0fmTmwIJ2MPkM4sf7P > b/4BzAb41MtkKuI1pYqgTm49F2m5fjFsqCowRyrUEJuMPFGEE6UDCQVH+REN > =HdJW > -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- > > _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ > > ----- End forwarded message ----- > > -- > G.
