Hi, I've just attempted building X4 phase2v20 with ash as /bin/sh. It fails on line 126 & 127 of debian/rules, as you are using the bash-specific {opt1,opt2} file matching stuff, as in:
install -m 755 debian/local/update-fonts-{alias,scale} $(DEBTREEDIR)/usr install -m 644 debian/local/update-fonts-{alias,scale}.8 \ $(DEBTREEDIR)/usr/share/man/man8 I've also noticed the same problem on lines 135 and 138. I've fixed this in my local version, and attached is a gzipped patch. This builds with ash as /bin/sh on my local box.
