Dear People, After many many retries, it seems I'm almost at the point of successfully building Branden's phase2v17 debs on potato (don't ask :). I had the most trouble with the mix of glide3 and glide2 that x requires, but that was solved. What I'm getting now is the following:
lots of packages being successfully built and then: dpkg-deb: building package `xserver-common' in `../xserver-common_4.0.1-0phase2v 17_i386.deb'. dpkg-deb: building package `xserver-xfree86' in `../xserver-xfree86_4.0.1-0phase 2v17_i386.deb'. dpkg-deb: building package `xterm' in `../xterm_4.0.1-0phase2v17_i386.deb'. dpkg-deb: conffile `/etc/X11/rstart/commands/@List' does not appear in package dpkg-deb: building package `xutils' in `../xutils_4.0.1-0phase2v17_i386.deb'. dh_builddeb: command returned error code make: *** [debian/stampdir/binary-arch] Error 1 Build command 'cd xfree86-4.0.1 && dpkg-buildpackage -b -uc' failed. Checking debian/xutils/DEBIAN/control and conffiles shows that variables like "/etc/X11/rstart/commands/@List" (in conffiles) are not being expanded, and some variables evaluate to null strings, as in the following: "Depends: xfree86-common (>= 4.0.1)," (in control). Does anyone have any ideas about what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help!
