If you want to go that route (which is nice): - try with versions available in sid, - try with a newer kernel, - and upstream bug reports go there: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/ (component: xorg, product: Driver/intel) I think bugs with old cards are known, so you may want to check the existing bug reports before opening a new one.
