I don't think so, but the radeonfb in 2.4.17 is rather old AFAIK. There have been big updates since, which could make a difference. If you don't want to try the current 2.4.18 prerelease, you could try backporting the radeonfb changes to 2.4.17. Shouldn't be hard. > Could I have damaged my machine? Unlikely.
