I followed!
I checked for the fonts.dir and fonts.alias. I run mkfontsdir on all
directories and I even have xfs running all the time:
komsys-pc-lr:~!52> ps ax | grep xfs
983 ? S 0:00 /usr/bin/X11/xfs -daemon
