Greetings! The correspondence below concerns my crashes when trying to use the Debian site's link to the development tools of the package. More precisely, it concerns the loss of the speech output from my screen reader, JAWS, which I use because of my blindness. (When that's gone, I can't tell what else may go wrong.) I hope that Jim Ellsworth's suggestion below will be fruitful, and will be grateful for whatever you can do to help with this.

Perhaps you can contact the site owner and have them contact us by writing to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Maybe if we work together we can get to the bottom of this. It is definitely something on the site since at one time it worked and now it doesn't. Nothing has changed within JAWS. My first contact was with the site, as you'll see from the message I'll append. I thought that you'd received the copy of it I'd sent to Freedom Scientific, minus my reply to it. It suggested that I contact Freedom Scientific, which now suggests that I contact the Web site. I hope somebody can break this circle. I don't know whether the appended message indicates a track worth following, but I hope there's at least one other possibility if this track is wrong. Thank you for anything else you may be able to propose. Since JAWS had been working on the web site you mentioned up until a short time ago something must have changed on the page. You may want to contact the web site developer to see if it can be resolved as we doubt there is much we can do from here as far as JAWS is concerned. I sure didn't expect to hear back from somebody who actually uses JAWS! I'll forward your message to the tech support folks. (The speech didn't just die there, but wiped out wholesale.) > [snip problems accessing http://packages.debian.org/stable/devel/ with Jaws] This page is 100% valid HTML 4.0 Transitional so I believe the problem with this page is its size, it's over 150 kilobytes. On my pc Jaws isn't responsive either when opening that URL, but after I tried editing the page locally to make it (a lot) smaller, Jaws ran just fine. So my guess is that Jaws can't handle pages of this magnitude. Maybe you could contact the technical support for Jaws and inform them on this bug.
