Package: www.debian.org Severity: wishlist On Sat, Aug 03, 2002 at 09:13:02PM +0200, Bruce Pimenta <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> was heard to say: > http://packages.debian.org/unstable/admin/aptitude.html > > missing link to the related package: > libapt-pkg-libc6.2-3-2-3.2 > > (aptitude 0.2.11.1-3 seems to need this package)
Hi, The page you referenced is automatically generated from information contained in the .deb file. Even if I wanted to change it, I couldn't. libapt-pkg-libc6.2-3-2-3.2 is a virtual package, provided by the most recent version of apt. Because of this, "apt" is listed among the dependencies of aptitude. However, it would probably be useful if these webpages noted when a dependency was via a virtual package, to reduce this confusion. I'm reporting a bug against www.debian.org with this email, so someone will take a look at it.
