Package: www.debian.org Version: 20020214 Severity: wishlist A few times in the last few months, packages which were announced in Debian Weekly News were moved to a different category, or perhaps occasionally removed from the distribution (I haven't usually had the desire to hunt down the new location for these).
It would be beneficial if moved packages could have the old package page left in place, with a redirect to the new location. As a starting point, you could run a link validator on all links to URLs within http://packages.debian.org/ in the Debian Weekly News archive, and see which ones are no longer valid. More generally, I think this would be a useful addition to the procedure for maintaining pages on packages.debian.org -- there must be hundreds or thousands of sites elsewhere which have broken links into the package system.
