I havn't seen it and I'm not in a position to look right now, but my first impressing based on the topic is -- Free Software (Open Source). They're welcome to use the parts that make sense to them as long as they don't: 1) violate the Debian(tm) trademark 2) violate the stricter copyright of the "Official Logo"
