I never had a single hero or role model to whom I looked up; many people have influenced my way of thinking in ways that make me greatly indebted. Their gender has rarely been a factor in this. It's probably true that in the tech domain, more of them have been male then female. Debian-women has noticeably shaken up those figures. While previously there were probably more women who taught me in social matters, debian-women has again shaken up those stats. I have high values of respect for those who made and make this project happen, and especially for the way in which it is happening. Not all of those were/are female. If you want a single name, then I have to say that I wish I had organisational and leadership skills that came close to those of Marga. But I truly dislike separating according to genders.
