Thankyou, Erinn, I appreciate that. It does help to hear things like
this.
I don't actually hold any ill
will towards her because of this discussion and kind of assumed
everything would be cool despite it all.
We seem to be missing our aims in this discussion because of
assumptions, which I think have a lot to do, in this case at least,
with cultural background. I am going to have to stop my participation
in the thread at this point, because I have a severely limited amount
of usable effort (my problem, not anyone else's), and I need to see
it getting somewhere.
I am sorry to hear you object to my Google group. It's a private
conversation group, in which I hope to mentor a few new translators
into mainstream lists and projects. It is not a D-W group. If it
fails to be useful, it will disappear immediately. You will notice
that I keep trying to discuss the D-W translation issues on this list.
I have tried very hard to be more direct, however wrong that is my
culture. But perhaps in trying to bridge cultural boundaries we have
to accept that sort of difficulty, and hope it is worthwhile somehow.
We'll get there one day. :)
Now, to a soothing translation file, preferably mathematics or music...
