Hi all,
I read all the thread and I noted you are forgeting a main problem about
this package. In my point of view:
If anyone is wondering, the thread Fernanda is referring to is a discussion
on debian-devel mailing list about an ITP (Intent to Package) for "hotbabe -
erotic graphical system activity monitor"
I agree with what Fernanda said.
For those who are interested, the thread started here:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2004/11/msg00986.html
and continues at length.
I personally think that it is a typical and time wasting discussion within
Debian, of a kind that seems to come up (different topics though) every
couple of weeks or so. It is also the type of discussion that deterred me
from becoming involved in Debian for some time.
However I would also add that having gotten involved in Debian now, the sort
of behaviour and opinions expressed by some on that thread seem to be a
minority viewpoint. Most of the people in Debian seem to be friendly,
courteous and supportive of things like the Debian Women project. They are
also mostly much more interested in creating the best linux distro than in
arguing over the inclusion or not of what looks like a particularly
unnecessary potential Debian package.
So - the moral is - don't let stuff like that out you off, because it's not
at all what it is really like :)
Helen.
