It's quite hard to answer those questions with a multiple choice survey, but i'll try the best i can:
> 1) What would you personally most like to get out > of the Debian Women project? > > a) more knowledge about how to use Debian > b) more interaction with or contribution to Debian > c) social benefits from meeting the people > involved in Debian Women > d) benefits (to yourself or to Debian) from you > helping other people who > are involved in Debian Women > e) other? Please elaborate. I'd choose c). Of course the rest are reasonable too. I'd like to get more knowledge on Debian, but I guess the most important part for me is seeing Debian not just as some remote quite big organisation, but to see them as human beings with whom you can talk, cooperate, learn and maybe teach, and who knows, maybe also becoming part of it. > 2) How can the Debian Women project best help you > gain more knowledge > about using Debian? > > a) holding "tutorial" discussions on the mailing > list or on the wiki > b) enabling you to ask people directly on IRC > c) informing you about where to access relevant > documentation > d) other? Please elaborate. I choose b), but not only on IRC, but also asking people directly in the mailing list. Of course these questions can involve c) answers, like telling you where to find the information. Tutorials and, even better, study groups, can be interesting too. Don't forget the web page. > 3) How can the Debian Women project best help you > to contribute more to > Debian? > > a) holding "tutorial" discussions on the mailing > list or on the wiki > b) enabling you to ask people directly on IRC > c) informing you about where to access relevant > documentation > d) other? Please elaborate. I choose b), maybe including in that answer also the mailing list and c). The best help I think I'm getting is getting confident in myself, seeing Debian not as just one big organization but the people inside it. Knowing that you can do things. The web page is also important. > 4) How can the Debian Women project best help you > to gain social benfits > from meeting the people involved? > > a) allowing you to talk to people on the IRC > channel > b) enabling discussions on the mailing list > c) organising in person meetings as part of > larger linux/debian events > d) other? Please elaborate. I'd love c), it would be great!, but right now I think discussions both in the mailing list and the IRC channel are really nice :) > 5) How can the Debian Women project best help you > to help others (and > hopefully benefit yourself and/or Debian in the > process)? > > a) encouraging people to ask questions on IRC > b) encouraging people to ask questions on the > mailing list > c) allowing you to post helpful information to the > wiki or webpage > d) increasing the amount of cooperation or > collaboration between Debian > Women and other groups in Debian (eg debian-mentors) > d) other? Please elaborate. I don't see that great difference between IRC and the mailing lists. Both have the same purpose, just that the list is more appropriate for ellaborated answers and establishing communication between people who cannot be connected and the same time, and the IRC channel is better for social relationships and immediate answers. The wiki and the web page are great for more permanent information. > 6) Are problems with language preventing you from > becoming more involved > with Debian Women? > > If so, what non-English language would you > prefer to to use? Not really. > 7) Anything else you would like to say that I have > missed. I cannot think of anything else right now, but if something comes to mi mind, I'll post again :) kisses, Miry ______________________________________________ Renovamos el Correo Yahoo!: ¡100 MB GRATIS!
