Well, you don't get the `automatically remove cruft' part (which I consider one of the most important features :-) ), and you don't get the ease of a simple text file to edit. In addition, you lose a lot of the power you can get from combining pkgsync and cfengine (different classes of machines could have different packages instaleld, for instance).
