A current blocker for updating to a more recent release is that upstream changed how their documentation is built. Fixing this might be an interesting project for one of our newer Emacsen Team members; I can sponsor uploads. I still rely on ebib for work and so would like to stay involved in maintainance. The package description is: Ebib is a BibTeX database manager that runs in Emacs. With Ebib, you can create and manage .bib-files, all within Emacs.
