This is used by other software to validate metadata. This will be a dependency for fwupd in the future (1.4.0 release or newer). It will be maintained by the debian-efi team which also maintains the rest of the firmware updating stack for UEFI machines. The packaging has already been started at https://salsa.debian.org/efi- team/libjcat. It will be uploaded when libjcat has it's first release.
