Sounds like a neat project. Since it is using OpenStreetMap it vaguely touches the scope of Debian GIS project. At least I would consider to package this in the Debian GIS team. Is there any specific reason why the area is restricted to Berlin and Brandenburg. In other words: Can I use this program also in the Harz region (and if not why not)?
