Jerome, I haven't notified the Savannah people because Debian owes something to the FSF but rather because they were violating their own principles and me as a companion thought that aiding them was the correct thing. On the other hand the operating system Debian distributes is mostly based on software from the FSF. I personaly do owe them my gratitude.
