It is mine, and this is what I have been doing for a long time for all my packages.
Another interesting consequence of always using the upstream git tree as the Debian source is that packaging snapshots then becomes trivial. Practical examples are kmod and inn2. (I even have some automation to pull, tag and merge a new upstream snapshot.) -- ciao, Marco
