I'm fairly sure Wichert posted several months ago that he was opposed
to Branden's proposal, but I can't seem to find the message locally
(and can't even remember what list it was on...).  The only reason I
remember it is that his opposition surprised me (given his leading
role in the last Non-Free Debacle (tm)).

However, I do think there's a contrast between being a true leader and
getting drawn into petty squabbles.  What's the point of getting
involved if one side (or the other) is going to go after you because
you can't represent the whole project while taking sides with the
other group of militant fanatics? ;-)
