Manoj, I really don't like the tone of your responses and the fact that they voluntarily focuses on minor points without trying to see the whole picture. You may think that it is unrelated to Debian. But I don't think so. The problem with this operator is only the starting point of my decision to go further and eliminate all troubles that repeatedly crop up about the status of an IRC channel (just see how your opinion is different than mine) that is used by *many* debian developers to work on *debian*. You don't think that it's official. I think it SHOULD BE because this channel has legitimacy for being such a channel. I think that we can officialize the existence of this IRC channel since its owner is an ex-DPL and that he probably don't have a problem with debian people using the channel in a way that is consistent with the current (and past) use of the channel. Now read again my GR and see that it's not an anti-Overfiend GR. It's trying to destroy the roots of the problem that has lead us to this situation. Now, why did I propose such a compromise ? Because I think that having the channel operators agree on the subject is enough to officialize it without going through a vote.
