I have the following problem: installed perl5.8.3 manually to upgrade perl5.8.2 and everything was ok with dselect
dpkg -i perl*.deb (5.8.3) then for some reason I put apt-get -f install and then dselect. Now when I try to install a new package with dselect or apt-get install , I get the following message: The following packages will be REMOVED: apache-perl axkit axkit-examples axkit-xsp-webutils dia dia-common dia-gnome gaim gnome-db libapache-asp-perl libapache-authcookie-perl libapache-dbi-perl libapache-filter-perl libapache-mod-perl libapache-mod-speedycgi libapache-reload-perl libapache-request-perl libapache-requestnotes-perl libapache-ssi-perl libapache-stage-perl libapache-template-perl libgnome2-dev libgnomedb2-3 libgnomedb2-common libgnomevfs2-dev libperl5.8 And dselect have those packages marked as installed and not for uninstall.
