Hello All,
I'm being tempted by an ASUS laptop - ASUS-Vivobook-M3407HA - and I'm
wondering if anyone has experience with Debian and this product? It
is supplied with Windows 11 pre-installed and I look forward to
eliminating that infection, if Debian is practical.
Many thanks in advance.

Have you checked the Linux hardware database?
https://github.com/linuxhw/hw-probe
No. I'll be buying on-line, sight unseen, hence my specific query about
ASUS. If there was a reliable computer vendor within 10 miles I would
obviously go and test various machines for compatibility with a Trixie
stick, but there isn't.
Normally I would go Dell, or HP but I've picked up some negatives on
this list, hence the query about ASUS.
There are also Linux specific hardware vendors such as https://
system76.com/ .
If they had an outlet in the UK I would investigate them, but...
We can also cite:
https://frame.work/
https://slimbook.com
See above.
May I suggest creative use of search engines.
I experimented with the following in DuckDuckGo [NOTE quotation marks]
"Linux" "hardware" "vendor" "uk"
"Linux" "laptop" "vendor" "uk"
"Linux" "hardware" "vendor" "us"
uk site:itsfoss.com
The first gave two hits:
a link to a vendor.
a link to a possibly useful mailing list thread.
The last was prompted by one of the hits of one of my searches. I
mention it not for a specific hit but the variety of hits may suggest a
useful search term.
From the colonies. YMMV ;}
Many thanks for all the replies.
