Hi,<snip>
meine Festplatte weigert sich standhaft, in den DMA-Modus zu gehen.
nathan:/home/mati# hdparm -d1 /dev/hda /dev/hda: setting using_dma to 1 (on) HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted using_dma = 0 (off)
Kernel ist 2.4.22 Habt Ihr Tips für mich?
Please note debian-user is an English list. If you prefer German, please use debian-user-german.
As for your problem: you probably haven't loaded the appropriate kernel module for your motherboard chipset.
You can try using lspci ("Host Bridge" and "PCI Bridge" ?) to find out which chipset you have.
Then you'll have to load the appropriate module using modconf or modprobe.
Regards,
Felix
